Beyond the Reiki Manual: What a Decade of Experience Brings to My Angelic Reiki Trainings
Beyond the teachings: How experience, practical insight and ongoing practice shape the way I teach Angelic Reiki.

There is a difference between learning a modality and spending years working with it.
When I first discovered Reiki over a decade ago, I couldn't have anticipated how much it would influence my life, my work and the way I understand the connection between the body, emotions and energy.
What began as a personal exploration eventually became part of my professional practice, alongside kinesiology and intuitive energy healing.
And while my formal training gave me the foundations, much of my understanding has developed through what came afterwards.
Years of working with clients. Continuing my own education. Asking questions, observing, practising and discovering that there is always another layer of understanding.
Today, that experience is something I bring into every Angelic Reiki training I teach.
The Teachings Are the Foundation. Experience Adds Another Layer.
Angelic Reiki has its own established teachings, attunements, principles and practices. These form the foundation of every training I facilitate, and I have enormous respect for the integrity of the modality.
But I also believe there is considerable value in learning from someone who has spent years applying what they teach.
There are things you come to understand through experience that aren't always captured in a training manual.
The questions that arise when working with different people. The observations you make over hundreds of sessions. The importance of understanding not only what you're doing, but why.
And learning that although we may follow the same principles, no two people will experience energy healing in exactly the same way.
These are the insights I bring into the training room.
Not to replace the teachings, but to add depth, perspective and practical understanding to them.
I'm Still Working with Clients, and That Matters to Me
Alongside teaching Angelic Reiki, I continue to work directly with clients every week through kinesiology, intuitive energy healing and bodywork.
My practice is active, and my understanding continues to evolve.
Every client brings a different experience, perspective and set of circumstances. Some arrive feeling overwhelmed or emotionally exhausted. Others are navigating significant life changes, longstanding patterns or physical symptoms.
Working with people in this way continually develops my ability to observe, listen, adapt and understand the different ways individuals experience healing.
It also keeps me connected to the practical realities of this work.
When I'm teaching, I'm not drawing solely on what I learned many years ago. I'm sharing insights informed by the work I'm doing today.
For students, that means learning from someone who continues to practise, question, explore and develop alongside the people they support.
Why I Believe This Work Matters More Than Ever
We live in a world where we're more connected than ever, yet so many people feel disconnected from themselves.
There's constant information, expectation and pressure to keep moving. We're encouraged to look outside ourselves for answers, measure our worth through achievement and fill every available moment with something productive.
And somewhere amongst it all, we can lose touch with the quieter parts of ourselves — our intuition, our awareness and our ability to recognise what we genuinely need.
I see the effects of this regularly in my work. Capable, intelligent people carrying enormous responsibility, navigating emotional overwhelm, questioning their decisions or feeling that something is missing despite everything they've achieved.
It's one of the reasons I believe spirituality has an increasingly important place in modern life.
Not spirituality as a set of rules or beliefs we must follow, but as an opportunity to explore our connection with ourselves, with others and with something beyond the demands of everyday life.
For me, Reiki is one way of exploring that connection.
It invites us to slow down, become more present and develop a different relationship with our own energy, awareness and intuition.
And this is part of why I choose to teach.
I don't believe these practices should be limited to those who work professionally in the healing space.
I believe there is value in more people having the opportunity to explore them, develop their own understanding and discover what spirituality means to them.
Because when we begin to understand ourselves more deeply, it can influence how we respond to challenges, how we relate to others and the choices we make in our everyday lives.
My hope is that the knowledge I share extends beyond the individuals sitting in my training room.
That it becomes something they carry into their families, relationships, workplaces and communities.
Not because everyone needs to become a healer, but because I believe greater awareness, compassion and connection are qualities our world could benefit from having more of.
And if teaching Reiki allows me to contribute to that, even in a small way, then that's something I find deeply meaningful.
Understanding the Why, Not Simply Following the Manual
One of the things I value most about teaching is helping students make sense of what they're learning.
It's one thing to read a technique in a manual or follow a sequence during training.
It's another to understand why it matters, how it relates to the broader teachings and how you might begin incorporating it into your own practice.
Throughout my Angelic Reiki trainings, I encourage questions and meaningful discussion.
We explore the teachings, participate in practical experiences and take time to reflect on what arises.
I share real-world examples and insights gathered through years of working with energy and supporting clients.
Sometimes, a practical explanation or a different perspective can bring clarity to something that might otherwise take years of independent exploration to understand.
For me, that's one of the greatest benefits of learning directly from an experienced practitioner.
You're not simply receiving information. You're also benefiting from the understanding that develops through years of putting that information into practice.
A Training Experience Where the Details Matter
I take great pride in creating a high-quality, thoughtfully considered learning experience.
Each of my four Angelic Reiki training stages is delivered over two days, following the established training pathway.
I intentionally keep my groups small, allowing time for individual guidance, hands-on practice, questions and integration.
I also believe the environment in which we learn matters.
From the atmosphere of the space to the refreshments and lunch provided across both days, I want students to feel welcomed, comfortable and able to immerse themselves in the experience.
These details are intentional.
When the practical things are taken care of, there's more room to focus on learning, connecting and exploring something new.
Learning Doesn't End When the Weekend Does
Completing a training and receiving your certificate is a meaningful milestone, but it's also the beginning of developing your own experience with Reiki.
Confidence grows through practice.
Understanding deepens as you begin applying what you've learned, noticing your experiences and allowing questions to emerge.
This is also why I created The Reiki Room.
The Reiki Room offers past students complimentary opportunities to reconnect, exchange Reiki and continue developing their practice in a welcoming environment.
It's a space to practise what you've learned, share experiences and maintain the connections formed during training.
Because I believe meaningful learning continues well beyond the two days we spend together.
What I Hope You Take Away
Whether you're completely new to Reiki, have previously studied another modality or are considering incorporating energy healing into your professional work, my intention remains the same.
I want you to leave with more than a certificate.
I want you to understand the teachings, feel confident exploring the practices and recognise how to integrate what you've learned into your own life or work.
I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, developing your own understanding and continuing to learn through experience.
And perhaps most importantly, I want you to recognise that becoming confident in any practice isn't about knowing everything immediately.
It's about having a strong foundation, the willingness to explore and the opportunity to keep developing.
After more than a decade of working with Reiki and energy healing, I still consider myself a student of the work.
Every experience offers something new to understand.
And that's the perspective I hope to share with those who choose to learn with me.
