Picturing Insomnia

By: Penny Butler, NaturalHealing.com.au

Most insomnia problems stem from mental disorders, physical ailments, or simply because a person is over loaded with stress.

If stress is weighing you down, it is wise to learn techniques that will reduce stress level, which in turn will help the person rest more peaceful during night hours.

When a person loses sleep, it can lead to aggressive behaviour problems or problems with anger as well as other problems. During the day hours, the person feels tired, groggy and frustrated because the body and mind wants to rest, yet rest never comes.

The person also has a problem with concentrating during the day hours and if the person is, attending school then school grades often diminishes because the person is lacking the proper rest that the body needs to function. To solve the problem a person must understand that the body needs to relax. Since stress is one of the main reasons a person loses sleep, thus stress needs to be addressed for appropriate rest to occur.

If you are suffering from insomnia, you may need to learn pictorial techniques that will help the mind find a resolve. Sit or lie in a quiet area and close your eyes momentarily while clearing the mind completely of all thoughts. Picture your self as a three people in one scene. In the picture, you will see one person talking about problems, with another person observing the person and a third person ready to help the person through the problems. Don't worry about finding answers to the problems yet, rather consider the problems that is causing you the stress?

Once you are in the scene, consider each problem one at a time. Allow the second person to evaluate the problems and then let the third person weigh out answers that may resolve the problems. Let's review. You have studied and considered that one of your problems is financial burdens that is causing you to lose sleep due to overwhelming stress levels. Now we can see that money is a stressor backed by additional stressors known as bills. If debt is the part of the problem, what can you do to make the load lighter? Is it possible you can apply for a job that pays more for you labour? Can you cutback on spending to save money to pay off your debts? Is it possible that you can sell an item or two in your home that will provide you additional cash for paying bills? Maybe you can buy and sell on EBay to make additional cash for paying bills? Is it possible you can consolidate your bills? As you can see financial burdens has a resolve, and all you need to do is contrast and compare to find a solution. Ok, now we can move onto the next problem. Are you afraid of death? Is there someone in your family you fear will die? Is this worry realistic? If you are afraid of death, realize that we all will die one day or another and there is nothing any of us can do about, unless you are willing to change your lifestyle to a healthier status to delay death. If you are worried about a family member dying, is a member sick? Is the sickness life threatening? Can you do anything about it?

As you can see, death is inevitable. There is no way out so why worry about what you cannot change. Going over your problems can help you to find solutions to resolve each problem and help you to see that something are unavoidable and there is simply nothing we can do about the problems that is part of the "great circle of life."
